the nation's leading auto parts retailer, today announced Brad Bacon,
currently Senior Vice President of Store Operations, has been promoted to
Executive Vice President of Store Operations and Commercial. Mr. Bacon, who
joined AutoZone in 2003, begins his new duties today. He will be responsible
for all aspects of AutoZone store and commercial operations.

Mr. Bacon, who has spent his entire career in retail, came to AutoZone
from Tops Markets where he served as Executive Vice President of Operations.
He fills the position most recently occupied by Bill Rhodes who became the
company's President and CEO last month.
